Alcohol may be a factor in Michigan stabbing

BERRIEN SPRINGS, Mich. - Alcohol may have triggered violent behavior, after two roommates got into an argument in Berrien Springs.

Michigan State Police responded to a stabbing Sunday night in the 6600 block of Hollywood Rd. around 7:30.

According to troopers, Manuel Leon was attacked with a folding knife, and his throat was cut.

Police say Leon defended himself, and police found the suspect bleeding on the floor.

Both were given first aid and taken to the hospital with injuries that were not life threatening.

It is alleged the two roommates got into an argument over rent.

The suspect was arrested after getting medical care.
