Hillary Clinton campaign quiet on Michigan stop

Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign is keeping mum on the New York senator's scheduled fundraising visit to Michigan today.

Clinton campaigned in Iowa this afternoon, joining five other Democratic presidential candidates at U.S. Senator Tom Harkins' annual steak fry.

Earlier in the day, she was scheduled to hold a fundraising event in Detroit.

The national Democratic party threatens to punish candidates who campaign in states like Michigan that move up their primaries in violation of party rules.

But the sanctions don't apply to certain fundraising events.

The Associated Press left messages today with the Clinton campaign about the Michigan event.
