Three Detroit-area firefighters were injured while responding to a blaze at a vacant house.

Hamtramck fire Capt. Chris Sanchez tells The Detroit News the men were in stable condition.

Sanchez says one of the firefighters fell through the roof at least 12 feet and landed on his back. Another fell through a staircase.

Sanchez says "you just hate to see your guys get hurt."

All three injuries happened within an hour of each other, and emergency crews rushed the men to Detroit Receiving Hospital while other firefighters dealt with the blaze.

WDIV-TV reports the fire started about 9:30 a.m. on Friday.
