A Milford physician who fled the country after authorities discovered child pornography on his computer has been sentenced to three years in prison.
A federal judge on Tuesday sentenced 49-year-old James J. Kelly II in U.S. District Court in Detroit.
Kelly pleaded guilty in September to possession of child pornography.
Kelly fled to Europe in February after police raided his home and found hundreds of images of child erotica and pornography. He was arrested in Portugal in April.
Defense attorney David Gorosh had asked for a reduced sentence, saying in a court filing that a social worker evaluated Kelly as being neither a pedophile nor a predator.
