Federal agents have arrested a woman who disappeared 38 years ago from a Michigan prison, where she was serving time for her role in a Genesee County robbery-slaying.

Sixty-one-year-old Carol Hart is the fifth female fugitive from Michigan prisons to be recaptured since April.

Authorities say Hart and a male accomplice robbed and fatally shot a World War II veteran in Genesee County. She entered a plea to assault with intent to rob and received a 25- to 30-year sentence.

But the Detroit Free Press and WDIV-TV say on Sept. 17, 1970, she fled the Detroit House of Corrections for Women in Wayne County's Plymouth Township.

U.S. marshals caught her Wednesday in Manton in Wexford County, about 180 miles northwest of Detroit.
