About 300,000 gallons of sewage has overflowed from a Kalamazoo sewer into a wetlands area.
MLive.com reports that city crews were working Friday to remove a blockage that allowed the overflow near Nazareth Road.
City and county health officials are advising people in the area to avoid any contact with surface water and to keep children and pets away.
The sewage overflow's impact on the wetlands and nearby Averill Lake was being assessed.
MLive.com also reports that about 600,000 gallons of raw sewage overflowed in the area in April. That was blamed on vandalism.
