A Waterford Township man has been sentenced to spend the rest of his life in prison for fatally shooting his wife.

Oakland County Circuit Court Judge John McDonald Wednesday sentenced Edward Stenberg to life in prison without the possibility of parole.

A jury convicted the 57-year-old last month of first-degree murder and lesser charges in the death of his 46-year-old wife, Laura.

Her body was found last September in the couple's Oakland County home. She had been shot in the head and her hands and legs were restrained.

Defense attorney Michael McCarthy says his client will appeal.
