Detroit student Deion-tay Watkins has given President Bush a piece of his mind. Next up: the 12-year-old's mayor.

The Detroit News reports the A.L. Holmes Academy student overachieved on an assignment to write a letter to an adult and take a stand on an important issue. He wrote Bush about the Iraq war and whether he was willing to send troops home.

The president responded this week with a letter thanking Deion-tay for his views. The student says he'll hang the letter up, despite disappointment it doesn't mention the war.

Now he plans to write Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick as he fights perjury and other charges.

Deion-tay says he'll ask about the mayor's decision to settle a whistle-blowers' lawsuit for $8.4 million and "why he's making us lose money."
