More than 800 absentee ballots have not made it to voters in Auburn Hills and are missing, stumping Clerk Terri Kowal.
Kowal says Monday that she learned of the missing ballots last week when only about 650 of the more than 1,400 mailed to in early October to registered voters were returned completed.
She tells The Detroit News that all ballots mailed out where assigned numbers and voter fraud is not a concern, but adds the concern is for "some people who wanted to vote absentee but haven't received their ballot yet."
The Nov. 6 general election is fast approaching.
Registered voters who did not receive a ballot still can get one by contacting the clerk's office.
