A Michigan dog considered to be the world's tallest canine took part in a fundraiser photo shoot Sunday in the Detroit area.

The Detroit News reports that more than 300 people turned out at the Petco store in Troy to see Zeus, a Great Dane from Otsego, near Kalamazoo.

The Guinness World Records 2013 book says Zeus is the world's tallest dog. He stands 7-foot-4 while on his hind legs. Zeus is just an inch taller than the previous tallest dog, Giant George.

On all fours, Zeus stands 44 inches tall and weighs 155 pounds.

Fans wanting photos were asked to make donations to Guardians For Animals. The nonprofit finds homes for pets.
