Michigan State Police divers have recovered the bodies of two ice anglers from the St. Marys River between Lakes Huron and Superior.

On Tuesday, they found the bodies of 29-year-old Nicholas Pangburn of Sault Ste. Marie and 20-year-old Kristina Peffers of Pickford.

The Evening News of Sault Ste. Marie and the The Mining Journal of Marqutte report they had been missing since last week.

Police say they went ice fishing and apparently lost their way while snowmobiling back to land during a blizzard. The sled ran off the ice and into the open waters of Munuscong Bay.

Divers searched nearly four days before finding the bodies under water, about 135 yards from where the snowmobile went down.
