Detroit Metropolitan Airport is one of 10 U.S. airports that are scheduled to implement 10-fingerprinting for international visitors by the end of February.
Dulles Airport in Washington started the procedure in November, while airports in Atlanta and Boston started this month.
Others going on line by the end of next month are Chicago O'Hare, San Francisco, Houston, Miami, Orlando and New York's Kennedy.
Since 2004, nonresidents traveling internationally have been required to allow airport personnel to scan their two index fingers.
It's part of the federal government's US-VISIT program.
