John McCain is campaigning in snowy northern Michigan this morning as voters head to the polls in a presidential primary the Arizona senator can't afford to lose.

Pre-election polls have shown McCain and Mitt Romney running about even in Michigan, where Romney was born.

McCain stopped near a polling place before heading to a get-out-the-vote rally at Northwestern Michigan College in Traverse City.

McCain says his main target is Republican votes but says it will help him in the general election if Democrats and independents vote for him today.
