Gas prices in Michigan have dropped 12 cents over the past week.
AAA Michigan reports the statewide average of $3.06 is 97 cents higher than last year at this time. Michigan is in line with the national average price for gasoline, which is $3.07 a gallon.
The state's highest prices at the pump can be found in Marquette, where it costs drivers $3.19 a gallon to fill up.
The auto club says the cheapest gas is in the Saginaw/Bay City area at $2.94 per gallon. Motorists in Detroit are paying $3.03.
The statewide average for biodiesel is $3.48 and $2.72 for ethanol.
