A Michigan State University student's body has been found on the grounds of a northern Indiana golf course.

Her parents in Michigan gave a positive identification yesterday after police showed them a photograph of the body.

Twenty-year-old Rylan Cotter, of Okemos, Michigan was found fully clothed Wednesday by workers at the Brassie Golf Club in Chesterton. A coroner says Cotter died from massive blunt trauma to the chest and abdomen, but the manner of death is unknown. Officials say tests are pending.

The registration of an abandoned car with Michigan plates found in a park's parking lot about a half mile away from Cotter's body was traced to a Michigan home.

Officials say Cotter's parents don't know why she would have visited Chesterton or the golf course.
