Tougher standardized tests may have hurt MI schools

A new tougher standardized test likely contributed to less Michigan high schools making "adequate progress" toward federal requirements this year.

In the last school year 489 high schools did not make progress up from 399 the year before.

Forty three-percent of high schools did not make adequate progress compared to 33-percent the year before.

In our area Benton Harbor High School and Coloma High School were the schools that did not meet their goal.

We have the full list of schools and school district results on our website under the Big Red Bar.
