Four Winds Casino to give grants to the community

The operators of a new casino near New Buffalo are ready to start sharing the wealth.

Next week, five $1,000 grants will be given to five community service groups.

Each group provides items to the under-privileged in the New Buffalo and Three Oaks area.

The checks come from the Pokagon fund, which distributes two percent of electronic gaming revenue from the Four Winds casino to worthy causes.

The groups in line for funding are: Harbor Country Emergency Food Pantry, Irish Connection, New Buffalo Service League, Senior Nutrition Services and Toys for Tots.
