The Potawatomi Zoo’s “Zoo Boo” is back again for this year’s Halloween season.
Tonight kicked off the zoo’s annual ghostly and ghoulish event. Kids dressed up in their Halloween costumes and trick-or-treated throughout the zoo. Other than the sweet treats, kids got the chance to visit the different animals and take part in a variety of Halloween-themed events.
The “Zoo Boo” and all of the activities it entails, such as a haunted train ride through the zoo, is always a big draw for Michiana families.
“What's really cool is that we spend weeks decorating the zoo with all fun blow ups and lights, and like eight tons of pumpkins, and so the kids love seeing the decorations and the animals. And there are so many cute costumes here, so it's great,” said Mary Dean, Director of the Potawatomi Zoological Society.
For the rest of this weekend the “Zoo Boo” will be open from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday, October 27, and from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday. Admission to the zoo is $8 for adults and $6 for children, kids under the age of two get in for free.
