A man who spent almost seven months in jail for a crime he didn't commit will get nothing but an apology.

The Herald Palladium reports that Carl Palmer was arrested for rape in August of 2010. He was identified by the victim in a police line-up, but DNA evidence cleared him of the crime in February of 2011, after he spent months awaiting trial in the Berrien County Jail.

Palmer filed a lawsuit, and a settlement requires police to write a letter of apology.
