KOKOMO, Ind. (AP) - A worker has been injured at Chrysler's Kokomo Transmission Plant after falling into a 15-foot deep pit.

Kokomo Fire Department Chief Pat O'Neill says a rescue team entered the pit Friday morning and rescued the worker, who was then transported to Community Howard Regional Health for treatment.

The Kokomo Tribune reports the name of the worker hasn't been released.

The 58-year-old Kokomo Transmission Plant is one of three transmission plants the automaker operates in the Kokomo area. Two others just north of the city have begun production since 1998.
