This week work crews began removing the abandoned train tracks on the north side of the University of Notre Dame’s campus along Douglas Road. The tracks were once used to haul coal to the university, but they are currently in disuse.
The entire length of the track, spanning between Notre Dame’s campus and the airport, will be removed when the work is complete.
