INDIANAPOLIS (AP) The Indianapolis Fire Department says family members of a 35-year-old woman killed in a house fire say she may have been smoking in bed.

Fire officials say Janice Waling died in the fire that was reported shortly after 9 p.m. Monday. Fire officials say Waling needed a wheelchair to get around. Her mother and sister were burned and suffered smoke inhalation trying to rescue her.

The 22-year-old sister, Auidrey Waling, was listed in good condition Tuesday at Eskenazi Hospital. The mother sustained a minor injury. Two dogs also died in the fire.
