Whole Foods Mishawka is teaming up with Michiana families to perform a special service project.

The store will celebrate a Kids Day of Service on Saturday, September 7. The event will runs from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the LaSalle Square Unity Gardens.

"We have a great partnership with Unity Gardens. Because we have a lot of the same core values. We both really care about our community and focus on healthy eating. Not only what to eat, but how it grows and how to get people involved,” said Whole Foods marketing director Mariah Fairweather.

Families will get a chance to work in the garden. Kids of all ages are encouraged to participate.

"We will have activities for kids of all ages. We know that their attention spans may wander. So we are welcoming kids from 2 all the way to 18,” Fairweather said.

A free salad lunch will be provided to all volunteers. To register, simply click on this link Eventbrite page.
