Kokomo-Center Schools officials say a weapon was found at the Kokomo Area Career Center, but did not provide many details.
The Kokomo Tribune reports (http://bit.ly/YhssZQ ) district director of communications Dave Barnes released a statement saying that a weapon was discovered Friday and police confiscated it. He said no students were in danger during what he termed an "unfortunate incident."
Kokomo Police Chief Rob Baker says two school resource officers were in the building at the time took extra precautions Friday to make sure everyone remained safe. He says his department is investigating and more information will be released next week.
