SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- A community dealing with the heartbreak of having a toddler killed by gunfire in their neighborhood will meet for a vigil Thursday.
They'll gather just blocks away from the front yard, where 2-year-old John Swoveland Jr. was playing when he was killed by a stray bullet two weeks ago.
Two men have been arrested since the shooting.
Robert Griffin, 19, is charged with murder, and Xavier Primm, 23, with assisting a criminal.
A memorial for Swoveland has been set up in Coquillard Park, ahead of the vigil scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Thursday in the 1200 block of Campaeu Street.
