Indiana Attorney General Greg Zoeller announced today that more than $2.5 million of unclaimed property has been returned to it’s rightful owners in the South Bend region.
“Unclaimed property” includes investment earnings, insurance proceeds and benefits, wages, as well as money from savings and checking accounts.
Depending of what type of account it is, financial institutions and other holders are required to turn over the assets of accounts in which there has been no activity for several years.
