Two suspects sought in carjacking

SOUTH BEND Police are investigating a carjacking on South Bend's far east side.

It happened just after 9p.m. Monday at 29th and Jefferson. That’s just west of the Mishawaka city limits and south of Bethel College.

Two black men approached a driver, pulled out a gun and demanded the vehicle. They drove the green Ford Escort into Mishawaka. Officers later found that vehicle outside the Park Jefferson Apartments, near 29th Street, but the suspects remain at large.

The victim who was driving the car was not hurt.

The suspects are described as wearing blue winter jackets, but police could not provide more description.

Mishawaka police are assisting in the investigation. Anyone with information can contact South Bend Police.
