INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Indianapolis firefighters have cleaned up a diesel fuel spill that caused slippery conditions on a highway that led to two traffic accidents.

Firefighters say truck driver Kasey Kadinger of AL Warren Oil Company Inc. was traveling from southbound Interstate 69 to westbound I-465 on the northeast side of Indianapolis when he noticed the diesel fuel he was transporting was leaking onto the pavement.

They say he contained the leak by shutting off a valve, but not before he spilled about 285 gallons of fuel, temporarily closing a ramp connecting the two freeways.

Firefighters say the slippery pavement caused two minor accidents. The Indiana Department of Transportation brought sand to the spill to soak up the fuel.

Summit, Ill.-based AL Warren Oil operates facilities in Indianapolis and Chicago.
