NAPPANEE Nappanee is changing its trash collection procedures. A press release from the community is below.
A 96-gallon wheeled cart will be delivered to your home free of charge beginning the week of May 1, 2014. This will replace the way you have been setting out your trash. If you would like a 65-gallon cart instead, please contact Borden Waste-Away Customer Support before May 1st, 2014. Second carts are also available for $7.50 per month. If you would like Borden to remove your old containers, please place a note on them so Borden knows you do not want them.
Beginning the week of June 30th, all trash must be placed in the cart. Any bags outside the cart must have “bag tags” on the neck of the bag for the driver to pick them up. These bag tags are available at Martin’s Supermarket for only $1.50 each.
2 odd trash items will be picked up free of charge from each resident each month. These items will need to be prescheduled between Monday and Thursday and will only be picked up on Fridays. This will be in place of Spring/ Fall cleanup days. Items containing Freon will not be picked up unless they are certified Freon-free.
Recycling is available and includes a 96-gallon cart for only $5.00 per month. It will be serviced every other week on your route day. Please call Borden to set up a recycling account and you will be billed directly from Borden.
Your route day will remain the same as of now. If it should change, you will be notified well in advance.
Please have your trash out and available to the driver by 6:00am on your service day with the cart placed no more than 3 feet from the curb and the handle toward the house. The opening should be toward the road for proper service.
Residents with questions regarding service, cart repairs, scheduling for large items, and requests for different sized or additional carts should call Borden Waste-Away Customer Supper (800) 386-3313 ext. 570.
