Tourism grant boosts marketing budgets for 21 local organizations

Twenty one events and organizations in St. Joseph County are getting a boost of support in the form of a $100,000 grant.

The selection committed combed through 31 different submissions and picked the winning 21, each of whom will get a piece of the money to help with marketing efforts in 2013.

“The tourism marketing grant is a great project for Visit South Bend Mishawaka, said Rob DeCleene, executive director of Visit South Bend Mishawaka,” each year the recipients represent a great cross section of events and organizations throughout St. Joseph County.”

Some of the winners include Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure, Art Beat, South Bend Museum of Art and the Indiana Police Firearms Training.
The grant money comes from the St. Joseph Co. Hotel-Motel Tax Board and Visit South Bend Mishawaka.
