A year ago Thursday, Michiana experienced a record breaking temperature of 81 degrees in March!
The sun was out, people were out and about, and many of them were even picking up some flowers.
I spoke to some of the people who work at Ginger Valley in Granger, and they say they had people constantly coming in.
One employee says she even had to sit down because it was so hot.
Now, the weather we have seen this year is completely different.
“It was very busy, I mean even though in March people aren’t necessarily into golf yet, they got into golf last year because the first week of March we had temperatures in the 70's and 80’s, so we probably had on average 100 to 120 golfers out here,” says Notre Dame’s General Manager, John Foster, “There’s 3 or 4 deer out there nobody is actually carrying clubs.”
“If it would get in 40s of 50s and kind of gradually work up, that's perfect spring weather. Last year was so unseasonable…” says Ginger Valley Employee, Marcia Matthys.
So, whether you like 80 degrees in March or prefer a gradual warm up, there is one thing many can agree on and that is at least we had some sun Thursday.
