Tax season has officially begun, and despite being delayed a few weeks, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) started processing tax returns.
The Goodwill of Michiana is offering access to online tax prep at no cost to users. The organization is making sure computers at its locations at Western Ave. in South Bend and Grape Rd. in Mishawaka are available.
The requirement for the free tax filing assistance is that a household have an income of $57,000 or less annually.
Also providing free tax preparations is the United Way. To make an appointment for in-person assistance, United Way says people can call 211 or visit the St. Joseph County website for a link.
