Families from St. Joseph County spent Friday night learning how to get fit and hanging out together in South Bend’s Howard Park.
It’s part of the county health department’s annual “Roc Ur Body Family Fun Fest.”
The event is aimed at combating childhood obesity and promoting healthier lifestyles. More than 23 million children in America are overweight or obese.
Hundreds of kids and parents spent Friday evening on their feet playing games. They could also watch healthy cooking demonstrations and parents were able to gather resources to lead a healthy lifestyle. Some local athletes even stopped by the event.
