St. Joe Co. fire departments learn about emergency operations

St. Joe Co., Ind. It’s not a very common practice, but that didn't stop all St. Joe County fire departments from coming together to meet each other and see what each department has to offer in case of an emergency.

“Every incident is chaos, and it's our job to come in, organize it, manage it properly, eliminate the chaos, and come to a good conclusion with the incident,” explained Al Kirsits, Battalion Chief at Penn Township Fire Dept. “By meeting and working together, knowing the same command structure, knowing the resources each department has, we know where to plug in and minimize it, and it makes for a better outcome.

Each department is broken up into three shifts, so they held three sessions.

Thursday was the last day.
