CHESTERTON, Ind. Operators of the South Shore commuter railroad say they will resume all regularly scheduled train service between South Bend and Michigan City on Monday morning after repairing a trestle between the two cities.

The Northern Indiana Commuter Transportation District said Sunday its crews and workers from an area company were able to acquire replacement steel and make the needed repairs.

The operators resorted to busing passengers between South Bend and Michigan City after a garbage truck struck and damaged the trestle in the town of Hudson Lake on Thursday morning.
