South Bend, Ind. Residents of South Bend's LaSalle neighborhood say in order to save their community, they quickly need help from the city.
They say multiple problems plague their neighborhood ranging from vacant homes to gun violence.
Some even said they're afraid to leave their homes because of all the violence.
On Tuesday night, a handful met with City Council members and South Bend Police Chief Ron Teachman.
Teachman says technology could help with the violence issue.
He wants the city to invest in a program called "shot spotter."
It helps police pin point exactly where gunshots were fired.
Teachman will give a presentation to the South Bend Board of Works Thursday about "shot spotter."
