The second annual South Bend Brewfest kicks off Saturday Jan. 12 at the Century Center.
This year, organizers say there will be more than 100 different types of beer to sample including a few local brewing companies.
Greenbush Brewing Co. says it plans on bringing four different types of home brewed beverages to the festival. The company opened a few years ago in Sawyer, Michigan and has been growing and expanding ever since.
“Some of the breweries are bringing special things, you go because it’s a fun afternoon of great beer tasting,” said Greenbush Brewing’s owner Jill Sites.
Indiana Beverage organizes the event, gathering all of the brewers together and giving people a chance to taste all kinds of beers ranging from pale ales to heavier brews.
“We really wanted to bring people to south bend to show them the high level of taste around there, but mostly we want people to get to know these brands” said Ben Amster, one of the organizers at Indiana Beverage.
