An Army sergeant who lost both legs to a roadside bombing in Iraq in 2008 is celebrating a new home built for his family by volunteers in just three days.
Sgt. Kenneth Harker's house was built by Homes for Our Troops in southwestern Indiana's Posey County. The nonprofit organization raises donations of money, building materials and labor so it can provide homes at no cost to veterans who have returned home with serious disabilities and injuries.
Homes for Our Troops spokeswoman Jennifer Fiorention tells the Princeton Daily Clarion (http://bit.ly/SQkRkT ) the house built for Harker, wife Heather and their 6-month-old daughter is the group's first in Indiana.
Harker says he's overwhelmed by the group's generosity and is grateful for the opportunity.
