South Bend, Ind. The South Bend Police Department will no longer have a permanent presence in the downtown.
The department has cancelled its lease for the space at 119 South Michigan Street. Meaning the police substation located there will have to vacate the premises by December 1.
After the police move out, it looks like a cupcake business will be moving in.
A proposed five year lease would have the space occupied by Yummy Cupcakes.
The proposed lease will be considered by the South Bend Redevelopment Commission at a meeting scheduled for Thursday.
