BLOOMINGTON, Ind. A southern Indiana jury has convicted a Bloomington man in the killing of his stepfather, who was found severely beaten on his bedroom floor.

The Monroe Circuit Court jury deliberated about 10 hours Friday before finding 25-year-old Andre Wells guilty in the October 2010 murder of 51-year-old Robin Sowders.

Wells told jurors that he and his mother's new husband spent the night of drinking at Lake Monroe's Fourwinds Resort before he dropped Sowders off at his Bloomington home.

The Herald-Times reports (http://bit.ly/IlG3i9 ) the next morning a friend found Sowders severely beaten and lying in blood on his bedroom floor. He died the following day from blunt-force injuries to the head and had also suffered a broken sternum.

Wells faces between 45 and 65 years in prison for Sowders' killing.
