A Richmond preservation group is looking for the perfect home for a cream-and-gold organ that was a trademark of a city theater's stage shows and feature films.

The organ from the Tivoli Theater has been gone nearly 50 years. The Palladium-Item reports it is owned by a Knoxville, Tenn., couple who want to keep the instrument intact.

Doris Ashbrook of Preserve Richmond says she has talked with community groups in homes of finding the right home for the organ.

She says the Wurlitzer could become a community focal point.

The organ is expected to arrive in Richmond in August.
