A report says northwestern Indiana economic development officials are working with up to 10 companies that may open or expand operations in the region in the near future.

The Times of Munster reported Sunday (http://bit.ly/OUYawH) that Northwest Indiana Regional Development Authority Executive Director Bill Hanna recently told his directors they may have to reshape their economic development incentives due to the large number of prospects that may be ready to close.

NIPSCO Economic Development Director Don Babcock tells the newspaper to expect more project announcements soon.

Babcock, Hanna and Northwest Indiana Forum Chief Mark Maassel would not name any of the prospects because of the confidentiality pledges surrounding such deals.
