South Bend is poised to fill a few vacant storefronts near Coveleski Stadium.
The former Schillings Camera building in the 300 block of South Lafayette is under consideration to become the future home of the Indiana Whiskey Company. Indiana Whiskey plans to distill and package its products on the site, which would also have a public sales and tasting room.
The first step in the possible sale of the building will be determining rezoning of the city of South Bend. In the meantime, the former Harmon Glass building located at 502 West Western has been sold for $750,000, and will be converted into a vocational training facility.
The new owner of the former Harmon Glass building promised to make $30,000 of improvements over the next year.
