Police say a local reporter was involved in the Kosciusko County shooting that killed one man and injured two others.

A SWAT team responded to calls of shots fired on Aug. 25. Police secured the scene and found Gary Helman, 56, in the back bedroom.

He was pronounced dead on the scene from multiple gunshot wounds. Bounty hunters had been attempting to serve Helman with an active felony warrant.

According to the Warsaw Times-Union, one of those bounty workers was reportedly working with Stacey Staley, of Stacey Page Online.

Staley had reportedly set up an interview with Helman to verify he was at the residence at the time. According the Warsaw Times-Union, Staley texted information to another verifying that Helman was in the home and what the others in the home were wearing.

On Friday, Sept. 5, Staley announced she would be resigning as editor of Stacey Page Online, effective immediately.

No charges have been filed in the case.
