Undercover police spent the morning and afternoon investigating a meth lab in Mishawaka.
The home in question on Merrifield Avenue and Third Street is broken up into multiple apartments.
Police say the meth lab was located in the basement of the house, and although no one lived down there, the upstairs apartments were occupied.
Neighbors say the building has seen its share of drug activity over the past 20 years.
Danny Atkinson says that apartment has had problems before, “The police raided it two, three, four years ago and found a meth lab. They also had a fire there when a meth lab blew up. It’s been a really exciting apartment building.”
The building, located just half of a mile south of Mishawaka High School was evacuated and closed up by police.
