Monday, a teen got a new sentence, for helping kill a friend's stepfather at the age of 12.

Paul Gingerich is now 15-years-old.

Back in 2010, he pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit murder in the shooting of Phillip Danner, 49, at his home near Lake Wawasee.

He was initially treated as an adult, but the Indiana appeals court threw out that verdict.

Monday in court, Gingerich was sentenced to 25 years under state supervision.

Once he turns 18, he can serve his sentence in a group home, on parole, or in a maximum-security facility.

It all depends on his behavior.

Danner's stepson, Colt Lundy, was 15 at the time of the murder, and sentenced to 30 years in prison.
