Super Bowl Sunday is just a day away and many people are gearing up for big party watches. While Americans prepare to indulge in football snacks, Papa John’s is getting ready for its busiest day of the year.
Employees at Papa John’s on State Road 23 in South bend started folding pizza boxes Saturday afternoon in preparation for the influx of orders they expect to get on Sunday.
Even though the pizza delivery service is used to a fast-pace day, they say the big game ups the ante.
“It’s nonstop madness,” says Alison Patton, Papa John’s franchise owner, “We'll have like four people answering phones, we've got orders coming in online, three people slapping pizza skins, getting chicken, breadsticks, three people topping the pizzas.”
Patton says the only other thing that brings out this type of patronage is a Notre Dame home game, but even they do not bring in the magnitude of orders that Super Bowl Sunday does.
