Overnight crash sends several to hospital

Several people are recovering this morning after two cars crashed into one another at a busy South Bend intersection.

Emergency crews were called to a wreck at the intersection of Colfax and Eddy Streets around 12:30 a.m. on Sunday. This area of town is near the South Bend Clinic.

Officers with the South Bend Police Department aren’t releasing many details yet, but this is what we do know.

Two vehicles, a red Toyota Corolla and a Black Nissan Maxima were involved in the collision.

There were four people inside the black car. Two of those passengers received medical attention. One had a neck brace and was put into an ambulance, another complained of leg pain.

Newscenter 16’s photographer also saw another woman wheeled off on a stretcher. It’s unsure what car she was in during the crash.
