VALPARAISO, Ind. ChicagoLand Popcorn has become the title sponsor of an Indiana popcorn festival after ConAgra Foods withdrew its Orville Redenbacher sponsorship.
The (Munster) Times reports ChicagoLand will have the main tent during Valparaiso's annual festival on Sept. 6.
A Valparaiso Events office spokeswoman says ConAgra is still open to sponsoring other things at the festival or in the area. It's unclear why ConAgra withdrew.
ChicagoLand will offer about 50 flavors of popcorn between the main tent and at least two other locations. It plans to open a popcorn flavor superstore in Hobart in August. It will sell more than 250 flavors.
The 36th annual festival will feature more than 200 arts-and-crafts booths, live music, a 5-kilometer walk and a 5-mile run.
