Warrant issued in ongoing Elkhart Co. homicide investigation

Elkhart county police continue to search for answers in the murder of a Dunlap man who was discovered last month inside a barrel in the St. Joseph River.

Mark Miller, 44, had been missing for about two weeks when his body turned up near the Six Span Bridge. The father of five children and a well-known tattoo artist in Elkhart County, Miller’s disappearance and death is still under investigation.

Police ruled his death a murder, but have not yet made any arrests. According to the Elkhart Truth, yesterday officers searched a house on Dorris Street in Bristol in connection with the case. The Elkhart County Emergency Service Unit served a “no knock” search warrant at the address.

At this time few details have been released, police say, as of now, the investigation is still ongoing.
